19th Century Burl Walnut and Parquetry Stationery Box - An antique 19th-century rectangular stationery box featuring burl walnut veneers and parquetry inlays. The box is constructed with highly figured burl walnut veneers over a wooden frame. It features a hinged lid and a front panel, each centered with a diamond-shaped marquetry lozenge. The interior is finished in a reddish-toned wood and contains support rails for a missing secondary tray. The exterior edges are decorated with multi-colored geometric parquetry banding and cross-banded borders. A brass lock is fitted to the front and a single metal key with a white tag is included. No maker marks, signatures, or stamps are visible on the hardware or the body of the item.
