A Miocene French Turritella and Bivalve Fossil Matrix - A Miocene epoch fossil mortality plate featuring numerous gastropod and bivalve specimens embedded in a sandy matrix. The irregularly shaped slab is composed of a buff-colored sandy calcarenite matrix. It displays a high-density cluster of turriform gastropods, characterized by their elongated spiral shells, alongside a single well-preserved marine bivalve with distinct concentric growth lines. The specimen features a white rectangular adhesive paper label on the reverse side with handwritten text in black ink reading 'TURRITELLA FOSSILS FRANCE 20 million years old'. The reverse surface is relatively flat with scattered small shell fragments and inclusions, while the fossils on the obverse are presented in high relief.
