19th Century Gilt Gesso and Wood Overmantel Mirror - A 19th-century overmantel mirror featuring a gilt-finished wood and gesso frame. The mirror is constructed with a rectangular outer frame containing a large arched beveled glass plate. The structure includes a molded cornice top supported by vertical fluted pilasters detailed with spiral-ribbed turnings. Ornamentation consists of a central foliate crest, relief-carved scrolls, and two large acanthus leaf scroll brackets anchoring the base.
