A 19th Century English Oak Wainscot Chair - A 19th-century English wainscot chair crafted from solid oak. The chair is built with traditional pegged mortise-and-tenon joinery, featuring a solid wood seat and a high, paneled back. It stands on block-and-turned legs connected by a box stretcher, with scrolled arms supported by turned uprights. The back is heavily carved in relief, showcasing a central panel with a flower-filled vase surrounded by scrolling foliage and a cresting rail with a central foliate ornament. A repeating lunette pattern decorates the top rail and the apron below the seat. The rear panel displays prominent medullary rays characteristic of quartersawn oak, and no maker marks or signatures are visible. 68cm wide 53cm deep 126cm tall
