19th Century French Giltwood Window Bench - A 19th-century French giltwood window bench in the Louis XVI style. The bench is constructed from carved wood with a distressed parcel-gilt and painted finish. It features a rectangular seat flanked by two high, open armrests and stands on four fluted, tapered legs with square corner blocks showing carved rosettes. The seat is upholstered in a floral needlepoint tapestry displaying a central bouquet of roses within a floral garland border on a sage green ground.
