A textured crimson veil, aggressively layered and sculpted, dominates the canvas, evoking raw emotion and visceral energy. From within this tactile chaos, a single human eye emerges through a torn aperture, rendered with striking realism and a piercing blue gaze. The contrast between the red exterior and the finely detailed facial fragment draws viewers into an intimate confrontation with vulnerability, identity, and the hidden self. The expressive layering suggests a struggle to break free or be seen, a theme that resonates with human experience in an often overwhelming world. This piece invites reflection on what lies beneath appearances and the courage it takes to reveal one's true self amidst layers of expectation, pain, or protection. I am an artist based in Wels, Austria. With a background in Healthcare, although quite far from the norm, this fueled more the self-guided exploration and introspection. As I observed the day-to-day existential difficulties and the meaning of suffering of my clients. My work focuses on the emotional texture of existential crisis, fractured identity, trauma, absurdism and nihilism. I have recently begun to explore sculptural surfaces and mixed media portraiture. I started painting November of 2024 and enjoys expressing the fractions of the self that cannot be expressed through words.
