Inspired by the Scriptures that says the glory of a woman is her hair. ARTIST BIO Muktar Yusuf (born March 19th, 1999) is an illustrator, sequential artist, art tutor and a traditional painter that specializes in the use of traditional oil paints and digital painting software particularly Photoshop. He was born and raised in Funtua, Katsina State where his first encountered the arts via animations at the age of 4. He began drawing cartoon and comic book characters in his notebooks right from his primary school till his senior secondary school where he finally made the decision to pursue art as a career. In 2016,he was the only WAEC and NECO candidate to take Visual Art exams in the local government without any prior training or education on the subject. In 2017, he got admission into the Zaria Art School in Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Kaduna State and there he studied Fine Art, specialized in Painting, gave out art tutorials, participated in numerous exhibitions within and out of the school, was among the first to start digital painting project and graduated in 2023. During the course of his ”art-venture” as he calls it, Muktar has made some notable feats such as being a 3 times 'Top 100 participant of Life In My City Art Festival, Enugu' from 2021-2024. He has exhibited in the Abuja Open House exhibition 2022, displayed at the International Real Estate Conference Exhibition Abuja 2022, exhibited at the Indian Embassy, with a team of NGO won an award for 'Best NGO supporting young artist'. He was among the artists that exhibited for the Undiscovered 2.0 exhibition held by Thought Pyramid Art Gallery Abuja, one of his painting was featured for promotion at the ABSA L'Atelier in South Africa in 2024, he has also juried 4 art competitions and lots more of exhibitions and achievements. He currently resides in Funtua, Katsina where he teaches art to teenagers, to inspire and equip them and also creating his art pieces with the purpose of creating impact wherever he and his art goes. 60cm 50cm
