Lilies and Burdock Birute Nomeda Stankuniene Oil, pastel, pencil, canvas 2020 Artwork Signed - SHIPS FROM Vilnius The source of inspiration for the painting is the blooming meadow near the house. It amazes me how nature puts everything together perfectly. A large, ugly burdock grew next to the beautiful lilies. Both of these plants were beautiful to me. I created the piece using various media. I wanted to emphasise the contrast of the flowers Birute Nomeda Stankuniene is an abstract artist living and working in Lithuania. In 2009, she graduated from Vilnius Art Academy, and from 2017 to 2019, she developed her practice at Slade School and a residency. The artist organised over 30 personal shows and participated in more than 20 group shows, both locally and internationally. Her works have been featured by Saatchi Art and other platforms, as well as by international press, such as BBC Radio Solent, CNC, ”Toskana Nova, ” and others.
