The quiet drift within By Malena Chavez Oil 2025 Signed - SHIPS FROM Lima, Peru The green and blue waves of this oil painting seem to breathe emotions that cannot find form in words. Within its curves lies a gentle nostalgia, like the memory of a safe place that no longer exists, and at the same time a deep calm that invites you to stay. The colors blend like contradictory feelings: serenity and melancholy, hope and introspection. The painting does not shout; it whispers. It evokes the inner movement of emotional life, that constant flow where nothing is fixed and everything transforms. To look at it is like listening to one’s own inner self in silence, accepting that feeling is also letting go. I am a 21-year-old architecture student at the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru whose artistic practice exists at the intersection of space, emotion, and visual storytelling. Painting is an essential language through which I explore identity, memory, and inner landscapes. I began exhibiting my work at the age of 17, marking the start of an early and committed artistic journey. Through watercolor, collage, oil, acrylic, and pencils, I translate personal experiences and emotional states into visual narratives that invite contemplation and interpretation. Each piece is conceived as a space to be inhabited emotionally rather than physically. My work seeks to communicate vulnerability, introspection, and transformation, encouraging viewers to connect with their own emotions. I am particularly interested in the dialogue between control and spontaneity, precision and intuition.My artistic path has led me to exhibit internationally in the United Kingdom, Mexico, Germany, and France.
