Making its appearance in the late 1890's, it was an adaptation of a small farm vehicle which had a low platform and a crank axle and was used for general errands. A small seat was added for the driver whose weight counter-balanced the vehicle. The horse that pulls it wears a larger back pad on the harness, usually six inches in width, since the weight of the load is forward of the axle. *NOTE: BUYER TO ARRANGE PICKUP.
