US Mail stagecoach, made by Henderson & Sons of Stockton, CA, sells with pole, 80” x 151” x 104”H -Very good original condition > HISTORY: Traveling in this heavy stage wagon was cramped even for the most seasoned traveler. The middle seat flips forward to admit passengers to the rear seat. There is no accommodation to seat passengers on the roof. A foot bay, somewhat narrower than the body of the wagon, allows some room for legs and feet. These Henderson wagons were mainly marketed in the coastal routes and to Colorado, Arizona and New Mexico. >> PROVENANCE: This stagecoach was made for the Sacramento to Placerville route in California, the main route to the California gold fields. The maker, M.P. Henderson & Sons was Abbot-Downing's main competitor on the west coast. *NOTE: BUYER TO ARRANGE PICKUP. This item MUST be removed from the premises by JUNE 27.
