Signed illegibly, lower right. The steam icebreaker Enoch Train was built in 1855, Medford, Massachusetts. She was commissioned as a Confederate privateer in Algiers, Louisiana in September of 1861. The CSS Manassas would then be converted to the first ironclad ship built for the Confederacy. She was sunk in battle on April 24th, 1862, at The Battle of Forts Jackson and St.Phillip, the decisive battle for possession of New Orleans, Captained by Alexander F. Warley.
