He used his art as a means to preserve the landscape and traditions of his beloved Acadiana. Rodrigue gained international fame with his Blue Dog series, inspired by local legends of the Loup-Garou, a Cajun werewolf. This exciting pop art composition features two of George Rodrigue's most iconic images: Blue Dog and his signature oak tree, both symbols of Cajun culture and identity in his work.
