Baer was a California artist, writer, and painter associated with the Monterey Peninsula art and photography community. She was married to noted photographer Morley Baer and lived within the circle of Carmel and Monterey artists, photographers, and writers. The International Center of Photography describes her as a painter who ”lived and worked in the inner circles of the Monterey Peninsula photography scene.” Her own works include finely composed watercolor still lifes and botanical subjects, often with a modernist sense of design, pattern, and color.
