Framed Antique D.F. Barry Photograph of Chief Hairy Chin, Native American Portrait - Framed antique photographic portrait of Hairy Chin, Sioux, dressed as Uncle Sam, attributed to David F. Barry (1854-1934), noted photographer of Native American subjects. The image is presented in an embossed mat with handwritten ”Hairy Chin” notation, housed in an ornate gilt frame with carved scroll and floral decoration. Reverse retains an attached printed biographical label for Chief Hairy-Chin, referencing his appearance during the 1889 Constitutional Convention parade in Bismarck, North Dakota, and D.F. Barry s Superior, Wisconsin studio. Not examined out of frame. Sight approximately 6.5H x 4.5W in. Mat approximately 10.5H x 7.5W in. Frame approximately 17.0H x 14.12W x 1.37D in.
