Item Overview

Description:

A Collection of British Commonwealth Commemorative Coins and Medallions, 1970s-1980s, including Royal Wedding and Queen Mother issues
A collection of approximately eight large, silver-toned commemorative coins and medallions, primarily from the British Commonwealth, dating from the early 1970s to the early 1980s. Predominant themes include depictions of Queen Elizabeth II, with visible examples such as a 1971 coin featuring St. George and the Dragon, a 1977 coin with an equestrian statue of the Queen, and several coins bearing her portrait with the inscription 'D.G. REG. F.D. ELIZABETH II'. The collection includes a 1981 Royal Wedding Commemorative Crown Medallion for 'H.R.H. THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LADY DIANA SPENCER', and a medallion honoring 'ELIZABETH THE QUEEN MOTHER 1900 - AUGUST 4TH 1980' with a sunburst design. One additional medallion displays an elaborate foliate border with a central bird motif. The items are generally made of a silver-colored base metal.
