The piece is constructed from mold-blown gold ruby glass, resulting in a rich cranberry red colour. The vessel is finished with a hand-crimped ruffled rim. This form and technique are characteristic of Victorian art glass, with similar optic patterns frequently attributed to manufacturers such as Fenton.
