Dictograph Wood Cased Office Intercom Telephone System - A mid-20th-century office intercom station manufactured by Dictograph. The unit is housed in a rectangular wooden cabinet with a dark-stained finish. It features a top-mounted cradle holding a black Bakelite handset connected by a black braided cloth cord. The front control panel is equipped with six toggle switches, comprising five black and one red switch. These are flanked by two horizontal rows of label slots containing typed inserts for Mr Campbell, Mr Lees, Secy Typists, and Ring. The front of the wooden cabinet bears a small, rectangular metal plaque with the embossed letters Dictograph in a serif font. This type of point-to-point communication system was commonly utilised in corporate and industrial offices across the United Kingdom during the mid-1900s.
