UK 1996-2008 Commemorative Philatelic Numismatic Covers, Trio - A trio of commemorative philatelic numismatic covers (PNCs) issued by Mercury and The Royal Mint. The first cover, numbered 3518, is a Mercury Schneider Trophy Victory 1931-1996 issue, featuring a Guernsey 1994 D-Day 50th Anniversary miniature sheet and a 1996 R.J. Mitchell commemorative stamp. It is cancelled with a pictorial 65th anniversary postmark dated 13 September 1996 from the Guernsey Post Office and contains an Aircraft of World War II crown. The second cover is a Royal Mint Remembrance issue from 2008, featuring Royal Mail 1st class poppy stamps cancelled 6 November 2008 in London SW1, housing a medallic coin inscribed The Glorious Dead. The third cover, numbered 12581, is a Royal Mint issue commemorating the Territorial Army Centenary (1908-2008), featuring Royal Mail 1st class stamps cancelled 1 April 2008 in Wilton Salisbury, and includes a commemorative coin inscribed Reserve With Pride. All stamps are perforated and the covers are printed on heavy card stock with integrated coin blisters.
