UK 1951 George VI Festival of Britain Five Shillings Crown KM 880 - A UK cupro-nickel Five Shillings (Crown) dated 1951, issued to commemorate the Festival of Britain. The obverse features the King George VI bare head design by Humphrey Paget with the initials HP visible below the truncation of the neck. The legend reads GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX F:D: with the denomination FIVE SHILLINGS below. The reverse features the Saint George and the Dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci with the date 1951 in the exergue. This issue is catalogued as KM 880. The coin was struck to mark the centenary of the Great Exhibition of 1851.
