A Pair of US 1776-1976 S and 2013 D Kennedy Half Dollars, Copper-Nickel Clad - A numismatic and philatelic commemorative display titled John F. Kennedy Coin-Package Collection, issued to mark the 50th anniversary of the death of President Kennedy. The lot comprises a pair of Kennedy Half Dollars and a commemorative postage stamp. The first coin is a 1776-1976 S Bicentennial Kennedy Half Dollar, exhibiting a proof finish with mirrored fields and frosted devices. The second coin is a 2013 D Kennedy Half Dollar in uncirculated condition. The philatelic component is a US 5-cent memorial postage stamp featuring the eternal flame and the legend AND THE GLOW FROM THAT FIRE CAN TRULY LIGHT THE WORLD. The items are housed in a blue, star-patterned card folder illustrated with historical photographs and quotes, including the Peace Corps logo, a Saturn V rocket launch, and a reproduction of the Chicago Tribune headline from 22 November 1963. The coins are silver-coloured in appearance.
