UK 1996 Celtic Cross Silver Proof Piedfort One Pound Coin - A UK 1996 silver proof piedfort one pound coin. The reverse is the Celtic Cross type representing Northern Ireland, inscribed ONE POUND. The obverse is the Raphael Maklouf type. The coin is a piedfort strike, produced with double the thickness of a standard circulation issue. Struck in 925 silver. The specimen is housed in a clear protective capsule and presented in its original red Royal Mint case with the corresponding Certificate of Authenticity. This issue had a mintage of 14,354 pieces.
