A Trio of British Medals and Medallions including a 1939-1945 War Medal - This lot comprises three British items of military, civic, and fraternal interest. The first item is a British 1939-1945 War Medal, a campaign medal awarded for service during the Second World War. Struck in cupro-nickel, the obverse features the crowned effigy of King George VI with the inscription GEORGIVS VI G. BR. OMN. REX ET INDIAE IMP. The reverse illustrates a lion standing over a fallen two-headed dragon, representing the Axis powers, with the dates 1939 and 1945. It is fitted with its original suspension bar. The second piece is a bronze-toned commemorative medallion for the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 2002. The obverse depicts a central crown containing the date 2002, surrounded by the text THE QUEEN'S GOLDEN JUBILEE. The reverse is inscribed CLOWNE PARISH COUNCIL, indicating it was a local commemorative issue. The third item is a silver-toned metal medallion for the British United Order of Odd Fellows (BUOOF). The obverse shows the order's coat of arms, including a beehive crest and a shield with four quarters, within the legend THE BRITISH UNITED ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS. The reverse features a pair of clasped hands and is inscribed EXECUTIVE COUNCIL and ESTABLISHED SEPTEMBER 25 1867.
