Charles Spindler (French, 1865-1938), Ste. Ursanne, Marquetry Panel (Signed) - A marquetry wood veneer panel by Charles Spindler depicting the town of Saint-Ursanne, Switzerland. The pictorial scene features a central arched stone gateway, a building with a prominent tiered tower and spire, and a large tree with textured burr-wood foliage. The composition is constructed from various inlaid wood veneers of differing grains and colours to create depth and detail. Signed in the lower right: Spindler. The verso retains two printed labels; the primary label reads SPINDLER PANEL / Ste. Ursanne / 2101, and a smaller secondary label includes the reference number 5. 984.
