A Stylised Carved Hardwood Sculpture of a Recumbent Shar Pei Dog - A substantial hand-carved hardwood sculpture of a recumbent dog, stylistically representing a Shar Pei breed. The figure is rendered in a resting position with the front paws tucked. The medium is a solid timber, finished with a two-tone stain; a warm mid-brown tone is used for the main body, while dark-stained accents highlight the eyes, nose, ears, and paws. The carving is characterised by deep, rhythmic incisions that create exaggerated skin folds and wrinkles across the head, neck, and torso. The surface is polished and exhibits a visible wood grain.
