Large Studio Pottery Raku Glazed Whimsical Bird Figure - A large studio pottery ceramic figure of a bird, possibly a duck or goose, rendered in a whimsical style. The piece features an elongated neck that curves into a loop, large protruding eyes with heavy concentric lids, and oversized webbed feet. The main body and neck are finished in a white raku-style crackle glaze, while the bill is decorated with a smooth amber-coloured glaze. The eye surrounds and legs are formed from matte terracotta-toned clay. The wings are represented by two heavily textured, horizontally ribbed circular patches with a brown finish. The large webbed feet are finished with a dark metallic bronze-effect glaze. No maker's marks or signatures are visible on the exterior of the piece. Height: 31.5 cm.
