Lancaster and Sons Hanley Art Deco Lustre Landscape Bowl - A square-form bowl manufactured by Lancaster and Sons, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, dating to the Art Deco period, circa 1930s. The bowl is of squat form with rounded corners and is supported by four small black-glazed bun feet. The exterior features a continuous transfer-printed rural landscape decoration, hand-coloured with shades of blue, green, orange, and purple, depicting cottages, trees, and sheep in a field. The interior is finished with a bright yellow lustre glaze. The rim and lower body are accented with thin black-painted horizontal bands. The base bears a black printed factory mark for Lancaster and Sons, featuring a pottery building silhouette with the word HANLEY above and MADE IN ENGLAND below. The base also features the hand-painted number 426.
