Hamburg American Clock Company HAC Early 20th Century German Architectural Mantel Clock - This early 20th-century German architectural mantel clock features the crossed arrows trademark on the dial, identifying it as a product of the Hamburg American Clock Company (HAC), also known as Hamburg-Amerikanische Uhrenfabrik (HAU). The case is constructed from dark-stained wood, likely mahogany or oak, in a classic architectural style. It features a shaped, arched pediment with a central carved fan or shell motif. The circular dial is flanked by pairs of fluted pilasters, all resting on a stepped rectangular plinth base with bracket feet. The white enamel or painted metal dial has black Roman numeral hour markers, red fleur-de-lis motifs positioned between the numerals, and an outer minute track. It is fitted with ornate, pierced blackened metal hands and a brass bezel with a beaded edge. The mechanical eight-day movement features twin winding holes and strikes on the hour and half-hour on a coiled wire gong. The rear of the clock reveals a brass plate movement with a stamped mark and a pendulum is present. Width: 35 cm.
