A Hammersley & Co. Bone China Imari Pattern Wash Jug and Basin - This set comprises a bone china wash jug and matching basin, manufactured by Hammersley & Co. of Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, England. Both pieces are decorated in an ornate Imari-style palette, characterised by deep cobalt blue, iron red enamels, and heavy gold gilding. The pattern features stylised white floral blossoms and panels set against a rich blue ground, further embellished with elaborate hand-applied gilt scrollwork and geometric patterns. Both items feature scalloped rims highlighted with gold. The jug is designed with a prominent, richly gilded scroll-form handle. The base of the items bears a red printed backstamp. This mark consists of a central crown symbol surrounded by the text Hammersley & Co, with Bone China and Made in England printed below. A small digit 1 is printed to the left of the crown.
