Luxor 2002, A Pair of Egyptian Style Cast Sculptures - A pair of contemporary Egyptian style sculptures produced in a dark, polished cast resin or stone composite. The larger work depicts an elongated head in the Amarna style, influenced by the royal iconography of the 18th Dynasty. This piece features a hand-incised inscription to the underside reading LUXOR above the date 2002. The smaller sculpture is a bust of a pharaonic figure wearing a crown with a uraeus serpent, set upon an integral plinth decorated with incised pseudo-hieroglyphic symbols. Both pieces are modern decorative items intended as souvenirs or home decor.
