Bidspirit auction | A Trio of Twentieth-Century Egyptian

A Trio of Twentieth-Century Egyptian Revival Souvenir Figurines - This lot comprises a trio of Egyptian-style decorative figurines, including a seated Bastet cat modelled in the style of the Gayer-Anderson original. The cat is carved from mottled green soapstone or serpentine with incised white-highlighted detailing depicting an ornate usekh collar and facial features. The collection also includes a black pharaonic bust, possibly cast in resin or composite stone, depicting a male head with a nemes headdress and uraeus, mounted on an integral square base. The third piece is a small bust of a pharaoh, carved from wood or dark weathered stone, featuring a nemes headdress and a long false beard. These items are characteristic of travel mementos from the mid-to-late twentieth century.
