Late Victorian English Oak and Silver-Plated Biscuit Barrel with Ceramic Liner - A late 19th or early 20th-century English biscuit barrel of coopered oak construction. The cylindrical body is formed from oak staves with horizontal banding and features silver-toned metal mounts, including a rim, a hinged swing handle, and a matching circular domed lid topped with a central knop finial. A blank shield-shaped metal cartouche is pinned to the front face of the wooden body. The interior is fitted with a removable cream-coloured glazed ceramic liner. The barrel is accompanied by a collection of hand-painted carved wooden objects in the form of various fruit and nuts, including items resembling a lime, apple, lemon, gourd, and acorn. The base of the ceramic liner features a fragmentary blue mark, including the number 7.
