A Pair of Late 19th or Early 20th Century Cast Iron Dolphin Design Supports - A pair of cast iron supports modelled in the form of dolphins. Each piece features a recurved S-scroll body with flared terminals resembling whale or dolphin flukes. The supports are cast with integral, flattened oval bases. The surface is textured from the sand-casting process and retains a dark, oxidised patina. These items are characteristic of neoclassical architectural ironwork and were likely used as side brackets for a boot scraper or as decorative elements. No maker's marks or stamps are visible. Height: Approximately 15 - 20 cm.
