The Victorian genre scene depicts a high-society salon or ballroom gathering with several figures in elaborate period evening attire, including women in voluminous ruffled gowns and gentlemen in formal dress. A musical quartet with a piano is visible in the background to the left. The print is presented under glass within a dark-stained moulded wooden frame featuring a gold-toned inner slip.
