Demetre Chiparus (After), Bronze Art Deco Style Dancer Sculpture - A bronze sculpture after the original design by Demetre Chiparus (1886 to 1947), depicting a female dancer in a dynamic Art Deco pose. The figure is shown leaning forward with her arms outstretched and palms facing outwards. She is dressed in elaborate theatrical attire, featuring a textured conical headdress, beaded jewellery across the chest and hips, and a long pleated skirt that drapes down to an integral bronze base. The bronze exhibits a dark brown patina throughout. The sculpture is mounted on a substantial rectangular black marble plinth with white veining. The bronze base bears the incised signature Chiparus to one corner. This work is a later casting inspired by the exotic themes of the early 20th century Ballets Russes. Dimensions: Not provided.
