Bidspirit auction | A Pair of Antique Codd-Neck
A Pair of Antique Codd-Neck Mineral Water Bottles - A pair of antique aqua glass mineral water bottles featuring the Codd-neck closure system patented by Hiram Codd in 1872. Each bottle is mould-blown with visible seams and retains its original internal glass marble stopper. The first bottle is embossed with the text S. Noble & Sons over the town name Dudley. The second bottle is embossed with Home Brewery to the upper portion and appears to read Daybrook below a central pictorial trademark depicting a standing figure, potentially a monk or friar. These bottles are characteristic of British beverage containers from the late 19th to early 20th century.
