Mid-20th Century Quartersawn Oak Veneer Three-Drawer Chest - A mid-20th century chest of drawers, characteristic of British domestic furniture from the late 1940s to the 1950s. The piece features three full-width drawers, each faced with quartersawn oak veneers that exhibit a distinct tiger or flake grain pattern. The top surface is similarly veneered and includes a small, shaped gallery back or upstand. The design incorporates rounded front edges and sits upon an integrated plinth base. Each drawer is equipped with a pair of matching decorative cast metal handles, finished in a bronzed tone with scrolled and floral motifs. The drawer boxes are constructed using a lighter secondary timber, likely a pale hardwood or plywood. No maker's marks or stamps were identified during inspection.
