A Vintage British Steel Machinist's Tool Chest with Assorted Precision Engineering Tools - A mid-20th-century steel machinist's or precision engineer's tool chest of British origin. The chest is of welded steel construction with a dark-painted finish and features a hinged top lid and three graduated drawers. Each drawer is fitted with a pressed metal label holder incorporating an integral finger-pull handle. The chest contains a substantial assortment of period hand tools, primarily focused on precision engineering and layout work. Included in the collection are two die stocks, multiple screw-adjustable calipers and dividers, various steel rules, and small engineer's squares. Several files with turned wooden handles are present, alongside various pliers, snips, and specialist components. Internal ephemera includes a paper label for Instant ANTI-RUST and packaging referencing Wellingborough, Northants. Notable small items include rectangular metal blocks stamped with a GH monogram and the numbers 26 and 9, and a red and white tool for Schrader valves.
