Each piece is fashioned from a translucent white stone, featuring relief-carved stylized floral and foliate motifs around the bodies and gadrooned edges. The ashtrays are designed with shallow central wells and notched rims, whilst the vessels feature bulbous bodies set upon flared, circular bases. These items are stylistically consistent with mid-20th century Italian hand-carved alabaster wares often utilised as components for table lamps. No maker's marks or signatures are visible.
