Burroughes & Watts Ltd Mahogany Full-Size Snooker Table and Shadowless Billiard Shade - This lot comprises a full-size mahogany-finished snooker table and a matching shadowless billiard shade, both manufactured by Burroughes & Watts Ltd. The table frame is fitted with a central white and red plaque identifying the maker as Burroughes & Watts Ltd of 19 Soho Square, London, W.1, and specifying the inclusion of the new Arrowflite Cushion. The table is supported by eight substantial bulbous-turned legs featuring carved vertical and diagonal fluting. The playing surface is fitted with a green baize cloth and traditional white net pockets with tan leather-bound covers. Brass-mounted rests and cue hooks are attached to the frame. The accompanying large green-painted metal shade features a decorative gold fringe. A manufacturing plaque on the shade identifies it as the Shadowless Billiard Shade, Patent No. 243996, manufactured by Burroughes & Watts Ltd and supplied by Orme & Sons Ltd, The Parsonage, Manchester.
