A Victorian Sterling Silver Pedestal Bowl by William Leuchars and Son Birmingham 1860 - A Victorian sterling silver pedestal bowl of small proportions, constructed from 925 silver. The design features a flared rim with a distinct central horizontal moulding, mounted upon a circular spreading foot. At the junction between the bowl and the foot are three applied decorative motifs shaped as stylised leaves or shells. The outer body bears a full set of British hallmarks comprising the maker mark WL&S in a lozenge for William Leuchars and Son, the anchor for the Birmingham Assay Office, the lion passant sterling mark, the date letter L for 1860, and the Queen Victoria duty mark. The rim is engraved with a partial inscription including the word VASE. Weight: 80.84 grams.
