A 20th Century Chinese Iron-Red Ground Porcelain Ginger Jar and Cover - A 20th-century Chinese porcelain ginger jar of baluster form, featuring a domed cover with a gilt bud-shaped finial. The exterior is decorated with an iron-red ground accented by white scrolling foliate motifs. The body features a large lobed reserve to the front, hand-painted in polychrome enamels depicting a bird perched on a flowering branch. The neck is encircled by a turquoise-ground band with a pink Greek key pattern, while the base is decorated with a band of stylized lotus petal lappets in yellow, turquoise, and pink. The cover mirrors the body decoration with a circular reserve containing floral sprays. No maker marks or reign marks are visible. Height: 29 cm.
