Large Cobalt Blue Porcelain Twin-Handled Table Lamp in the Sèvres Style - A large decorative table lamp featuring a porcelain base of twin-handled urn form, mounted on a dark-finished, turned wooden circular base. The porcelain body is finished in a rich cobalt blue ground, extensively decorated with gilt scrollwork, borders, and raised enamel jewelling in red and green tones. The central body has an oval cartouche depicting a romanticised pastoral scene with four figures. Additional decoration includes polychrome floral sprays to the neck and lower body. The lamp is fitted with a large cream-coloured fabric shade featuring a scalloped lower edge, accented with gold braided trim and a long, clear beaded fringe. A label on the brass-tone lamp holder is marked BHS 100W MAX, indicating the electrical fitting was retailed by British Home Stores. Height: 60 cm.
