A Mahogany Veneered Regency Style Extendable Pedestal Dining Table and Set of Six Chairs - A late 20th century mahogany-finished reproduction dining suite in the Regency style. The suite consists of an extendable pedestal dining table and a matching set of six chairs. The table features an oval top with a mahogany-veneered surface, a decorative moulded edge, and a central seam for extension. It is supported by a substantial turned central pedestal which terminates in four splayed legs decorated with carved knees and scroll feet. The underside reveals a wooden sliding mechanism and metal latches for the extension. The set of six matching balloon-back dining chairs each have a curved back with three vertical slats. The chairs are raised on cabriole front legs and slightly flared rear legs, and are fitted with drop-in padded seats upholstered in a contemporary cream, grey, and black floral patterned fabric. No maker marks or stamps are visible on the pieces.
