A Trio of 19th-Century British Military Wood Engravings from The Illustrated London News - A collection of three 19th-century British military wood engravings, extracted from The Illustrated London News and presented in uniform frames. The first is a colour-printed supplement titled Anniversary of the Battle of the Alma, Sept. 20, 1884, bearing the signature of Walter Wilson (1851-1912) within the block. It depicts officers of the Guards gathered around a regimental colour. The second item is a black and white wood engraving dated June 30, 1855, titled The Guards Cheering Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace. The third is a black and white wood engraving from June 20, 1857, titled Acts of Bravery During the Late War, which illustrates six individual vignettes of heroic deeds during the Crimean War, including actions by Cecil W. Buckley, Thomas Wilkinson, and Luke O'Connor, enclosed within a decorative border featuring the legend Honour to the Brave. All three prints are mounted and glazed within matching dark wood campaign-style frames, characterised by polished brass corner caps.
