An Arthur Wood Gaudy Welsh Pattern Hexagonal Earthenware Jug - Attributed to the Staffordshire pottery of Arthur Wood, this earthenware jug is decorated in a Gaudy Welsh style using a traditional palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and gold gilding. The vessel features a faceted, six-sided body with a sharp, angular handle. The hand-painted decoration consists of stylised floral motifs and geometric panels, including a central sun-burst medallion. The base of the jug bears several hand-painted marks: the pattern number 1629 in a reddish-purple pigment, a small script d in blue, and a stylised gilt mark resembling a script f or S. These are painter and gilder marks characteristic of the manufacturing process. The form and decoration are highly consistent with the Royal Bradwell line produced by Arthur Wood in the early to mid-20th century. Height: 14 cm Width: 13.3 cm.
