Barostar Wood-Cased Banjo Weather Station incorporating Barometer Thermometer and Hygrometer - A mid-to-late 20th-century wall-mounted weather station by Barostar, designed in a traditional banjo form. The unit features a shaped wooden case with a medium-brown stained finish and a brass suspension loop to the top. It incorporates three meteorological instruments: a thermometer, an aneroid barometer, and a hygrometer. The vertical thermometer is mounted on a brass-toned plate with scales for Celsius (0 to 50 degrees) and Fahrenheit (32 to 120 degrees), containing blue-dyed spirit. The central aneroid barometer features a brass-coloured dial protected by glass, with dual scales measuring atmospheric pressure in millibars (960 to 1060) and inches (28 to 31). The dial is printed with weather predictions in a black Gothic script, including Stormy, Rain, Change, Fair, and Very Dry, and is marked BAROSTAR and pouces. It is fitted with a black indicator needle and a brass-toned set hand. The circular hygrometer at the base measures relative humidity from 0 to 100 percent and also bears the Barostar brand name.
