Italian Capodimonte Porcelain Figurine i ricordi by Volta - A large polychrome porcelain figurine titled i ricordi, produced by Capodimonte and signed by the artist Volta. The narrative piece depicts an elderly couple seated together on a Louis XV style settee; the woman views an open scrapbook while the man sits beside her in a brown suit and patterned waistcoat. The figurine is constructed from matte-finished bisque porcelain with hand-painted details and applied porcelain elements. The man wears a pair of original wire-rimmed spectacles. The circular base is decorated with a gilded rococo-scroll border and features the handwritten inscription i ricordi to the front. The reverse of the base bears the artist signature Volta in blue script. Base diameter: 21.5 cm (8.5 inches).
