A Pair of Late 19th or Early 20th Century Chinoiserie Style Footed Brass Vessels with Elephant Head Handles - A pair of cast brass vessels, likely designed as small jardinières or incense burners, reflecting the Orientalist influence on late Victorian and Edwardian decorative arts. Each vessel is of globular form with a flared, polished brass rim. The central body of each piece features a broad band decorated with applied or relief-moulded foliate and leaf motifs, finished with a dark, textured patina or lacquer to provide contrast against the bright brass. Each vessel is flanked by twin cast handles in the form of stylised elephant heads with extended trunks. The pots are supported by three ornate cast feet with scroll and leaf detailing. The interiors show signs of oxidation consistent with age. No maker's marks or stamps are visible on either item.
