A Pair of UK Bank of England Series C Ten Shilling Banknotes, J. S. Fforde - A pair of Bank of England Ten Shilling banknotes from Series C, featuring the printed signature of Chief Cashier J. S. Fforde (in office 1966–1970). The obverse of each note displays a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II in an oval frame on the right and a vignette of a seated Britannia within the circular watermark field on the left. The reverse features a central vignette of a seated Britannia holding an olive branch, surrounded by intricate geometric lathe-work and the denomination. The notes are printed in a palette of reddish-brown and orange on cream paper and include an embedded vertical security thread. The serial numbers are B94N 254725 and 74Y 161768.
